I first met Ludovica and Olmo at a dinner with friends in Modica, a couple of years before their wedding. When they told me they wanted to celebrate in Sicily and asked me to be part of it, I immediately felt it would be something special.
I’ve always been fascinated by the way life brings people together, how seemingly ordinary encounters can lead to unexpected places. Sometimes, looking back, we begin to recognise the invisible threads connecting people, places, and moments that once seemed unrelated.
Their wedding brought together several days of celebration in Sicily, from the coast to the countryside around Cozzo Rose, where a restored masseria, surrounded by ancient carob trees, became the setting for a gathering of family and friends.
Over those days, I found myself reconnecting with people whose paths had crossed mine years before, in entirely different places and circumstances.

An old acquaintance from a wedding in the Caribbean, familiar faces connected to a celebration I had photographed in Madrid years earlier. Encounters that might seem incidental, yet somehow make the world feel smaller, revealing unexpected connections between people and the stories we share. There was something particularly meaningful about being there, too. After years spent living elsewhere, I had chosen this part of Sicily as a place to return to and call home. Photographing Ludovica and Olmo here felt like another of those encounters through which life brings us closer to places and people we might never have imagined becoming part of our story.
Perhaps this is what I find so compelling about these invisible connections: we rarely recognise them as they happen, but sometimes, looking back, we begin to see how one encounter leads to another, and how our lives continue to cross in ways we could never have planned.
