Sometimes, the beginning of a story goes further back than expected. The path that brought me to Felicia and Albert’s winter wedding in Hampshire actually started a few years ago, with another encounter, Brenda and Darren, whom I photographed during a portrait session in Mallorca in 2023. It is always moving to witness how human connections quietly travel across places and time, eventually leading to new stories, new landscapes, new people.

Photographing this destination wedding in the English countryside together with Alessia Angelotti was a true pleasure. Winter weddings in England are not the most common setting, yet the countryside holds a timeless charm in every season: the muted light, the silence of January, the feeling of intimacy that seems to naturally emerge from the landscape itself.

As always, we approached the day through a blend of medium format film, 35mm film photography, and digital imagery, moving between textures, rhythms, and imperfections in search of something honest and lasting.

It was also a joy to work alongside  The Golborne Collection, whose care and sensitivity helped shape such a warm and thoughtful atmosphere throughout the celebration at Heckfield Place.

Some stories seem to begin long before the photographs are taken.
